My husband, David, and I moved to Pike Road in July of 2018. Prior to our move I had been a lifelong resident of the Dothan - Houston County, Alabama area. My family was involved in farming and the farm industry. This is where I learned about hard work, developed a strong work ethic and established a “can-do attitude”.

From a young age, I worked various jobs from Girl Friday at an auto dealership to a sales consultant for a major electrical supply house. After marrying, I entered college in order to fulfill a lifelong dream of becoming a special education teacher. I continued to work full time while attending Troy University. This took me on a seven year journey to obtain my first degree while continuing to work a full-time job.  At the age of thirty-four I finally began my teaching career.

I currently hold a Master’s Degree in Special Education and a Master’s Degree in School Administration. This career encompasses teaching at the middle school, elementary school, and college levels. I was an assistant administrator with Dothan City Schools serving two very diverse schools before becoming a principal.   I had the privilege of serving as principal of Highlands Elementary School in Dothan, Alabama from 2009-2018.

In August of 2018 I joined the Pike Road School System as principal of Pike Road Middle School, Historic Campus. It truly has been an honor to help start this new school. I have been surrounded by the most wonderful faculty, staff and learners. In the past several months, I have grown to love this community and those we serve.

Personal mission statement: “To love and bless others while helping them become all they were created to be.”
